History
Herb’s Automotive was founded in 1987 by Herb Rushing. Herb traveled from Oklahoma to California, when he was just 15 years old, in search of a better life. He came with only his talent and his infectious love for cars. He worked hard and gained employment as a technician with General Motors which allowed him to acquire high levels of experience as a “GM Certified Master Technician”.
Although he was happy as a lead technician, Herb felt that customers deserved more than they were getting at the dealer and that he could service them in a more personal way. In the summer of 1987, he fulfilled his dream of owning and operating his own repair facility. He based this business on his reputation for quality service and repairs with an extra emphasis on customer relations. Herb had a big heart and a gleam in his eye that customers always loved about him.
After he lost his battle with cancer, the business was spearheaded by his oldest son Jake. Jake has followed in his father’s footsteps and, with the help of his expert staff, has successfully operated the business since 2001. Today, we employ only the most qualified technicians and customer service representatives which has allowed us to grow and expanded our capabilities. Along with continuing to offer the high quality service that we are known for, we also offer special care and maintenance for classic and custom vehicles as well as high quality collision repair/refinishing and custom body and paint. We are a true ONE- STOP- SHOP.
